Jonah and me

The dark skies pervaded

The sin had created

A storm to top all storms

The sin he performs

The call was to go to a different place

But he didn’t like that particular race

He fled and tried another way

He knew that for this decision he would pay

It was Gods plan for him to speak

God wanted him to be humble and meek

God said feed my sheep

He said I want them to weep

On the waves the ship tossed and turned

The waves jumped and churned

The men on the ship learned of his sin

They tried to toss over him and his kin

He was sent into the waves and into the mouth of a fish

That this man was edible was the wale’s wish

For many days he was in this mouth

He didn’t know if they were going north or south

He understood that he had sinned

With God his relationship did then mend

The whale spit him out

It could have been a large trout

He then went to where the Lord wanted him to go

He would make a friend out of a foe

Telling them of God and their condemnation

This was God’s regulation

In the same way I feel called like Jonah and the whale

I don’t fully understand this path, my trail

I want to obey God’s will

I just have to wait school is forever until

Jonah and me we are one in the same

God calls us to things that we return with shame

It just seems easier to go with the flow

Until the waves and the current let us know

We cannot escape God’s divine call

And give up selfishness, to say goodbye to all

We love him so deep he loves us too

Somehow I know in the end it will be true.

Being a Christian in a "Christain Culture"

i just had the greatest discussion. the question that was given me was something like isnt church a self denying aspect of Christianity since being a Christian is a personal thing but church is a bunch of people getting together who have the same views. the basic discussion was that since in Christianity there seems to be this club. there can be four people in Christianity and a fith  person can come and the others can tell them they are not a Christian even if the person believes that inside they are a Christian. there are people who go around with the shirts and the friends that are Christians who only talk to christians and have their own little clicks and decide who is and who isnt a Christian. most of the secular world believes that Christians are these Christian club members who dont except or love people but only weed out the "bad apples". i came to the conclusion that there is a big difference between Christains who follow Christ and people getting on the band wagon of Christian culture. a culture is from Webster dictionary: the sum total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another. i dont see any God to man interaction in that sentance. if you are merely taking traditions from your parents or your friends you are not living the Christian life as Christ portrayed it. yes, parents are there to guide us and teach us but they cannot give you a heart change or a relationship with your heavenly Father. Also, if your friends accept you as a Christian doesnt mean you are one. any none Christian can be nice to people its that simple. what makes you a Christian is making that relationship with your Heavenly Father. if one human being was on the earth they could still be a christain because being a Christian has nothing to do with other people. it has to do with yourself. so a word of advice; dont tell people whether they are a Christian or not judging by thier actions. even though this is a good way to guess it has no real proof. another piece of advice. make your own personal relationship with your Heavenly Father and read about and follow what Jesus did. people who dont profess to be Christians hate nothing more than the Christian club attitude.

ok tell me what you think. agree or disagree. tell me. please.
